Services to help seniors in Prince Edward County Live at Home
Debbie MacDonald Moynes is Executive Director of The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association, an agency that is well known for its Meals on Wheels® program. Community Care services help seniors live at home. The agency was established in 1977.
She is a graduate of Queen’s University with a B.A. Hon.; and with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
For six years Debbie was an adjunct professor with the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Human Services Management degree program at Loyalist College in Belleville, teaching two courses: “Social Policy” and “Canadian Politics”.
Debbie is deeply involved in the community and her volunteer work includes founder, membership chair and now President of the PROBUS Club of Prince Edward County, receiving the PROBUS Canada Citation for her role as founder; Past President of the Rotary Club of Picton (1996-97) and she’s been a Rotarian for 35 years; Past President of the Quinte Educational Museum & Archives; and she is also a Past President of The Regent Theatre Foundation. She was appointed by the municipality to the inaugural board of the Prince Edward Affordable Housing Corporation.
Debbie lives on Green Point in Prince Edward County with her husband Rick, Past President and current Treasurer of PROBUS. She and Rick were thrilled to become grandparents of triplets on October 10th, 2010 when their daughter Jessica gave birth to Marley, Eli and Leah. The babies were born on their mother’s birthday! Debbie’s second daughter, Laura, gave birth to her fourth grandchild when Gauge arrived on July 2, 2020.
