Family War History

Dick Prinzen is a lifelong Prince Edward County farmer and entrepreneur with deep roots in the local agricultural community. A member of the Prinzen farming family, Dick and his wife, Sharon Sibthorpe, took over the family farm in Bloomfield in 2003, transitioning the operation from dairy farming to commercial poultry production. Together they built Prinzen Farms into a successful broiler chicken operation and also operated The Chicken Shoppe, supplying locally raised poultry to restaurants, caterers and customers throughout Prince Edward County. Dick’s career reflects a longstanding commitment to agriculture, entrepreneurship and the community he calls home.
